On Saturday 13 October we made the most of the sunny weather to support the Threshers Day Nursery Garden Fete, and to celebrate the official opening of their fantastic new playground.

The Threshers Day Nursery is a charity-run nursery based in the heart of St Mary’s Cray. It has provided childcare for children aged between one and five years for the past 46 years, supporting their growth and learning in a loving, caring and nurturing environment.

After a dedicated fundraising campaign, Threshers was able to completely rebuild its garden space, creating a wonderful new area for the children to play and enjoy nature.

To celebrate the completion of the playground, Threshers held a garden fete and invited its trustees, Mayor of Bromley Kim Botting, and a number of local organisations to join the nursery’s parents and children for a day of fun and celebration.

Ada & Albert was among those invited, along with local children’s arts and crafts messy play company, Little Chameleons. Ada & Albert sponsored Little Chameleons’ attendance at the event, and Lauren from Little Chameleons donated her time to help the children create wonderful spooky Halloween-themed crafts on the day.

Mayor Botting cut the ribbon to officially open the new playground.

As well as a number of stalls, there was also a raffle and tombola, with some fantastic prizes donated by Ada & Albert. We also provided kids’ clothes for the children, and toys for the nursery, provided by the Ada & Albert Charity Boutique, and we also brought teddy bears to be given away as part of the tombola.
