Ada & Albert's Period Box Campaign

Everyday young girls in the Bromley borough are facing the realities of period poverty; not having access to the products needed for their monthly menstruation.

Ada & Albert have donated 3 period boxes to local schools in the Bromley borough to help the young women who face each month without basic necessities which no one should go without.

In the UK, 1 in 10 girls can not afford to buy menstrual products, while 1 in 7 have struggled to afford them (according to a representative survey of 1,000 girls and young women aged 14-21 by Plan International UK.)

How does Period Poverty affect girls in school?

Young women affected by period poverty are missing school because they have no access to products.

An estimated 49% of girls have missed school due to their periods (2019 study)

These women experiencing period poverty turn to socks, clean wash cloths and cardboard to help them through each month.

Thank you to our wonderful customers and members of the community who donated period pads and tampons to our Period Boxes.

Your generosity is amazing and greately appreciated by us and the schools receiving the products.
