Are you feeling a little down after Christmas? Do you want to work off some of that festive indulgence while making new friends?

Children’s charity Ada & Albert is starting a free new walking group to help the local community come together, get fit and beat those winter blues.

Every Thursday morning at 9:15am, the walking group will meet at the Ada & Albert Charity Boutique at 17 Royal Parade, Chislehurst, before beginning a gentle but invigorating hour’s walk around local landmarks. The walk will end back at Ada & Albert, with a welcome reward of tea and coffee available upstairs.

Everyone is encouraged to join the group, which is open to anyone, at any age or fitness level. In particular, mums with children in buggies who would like to get out and meet people are very welcome to join in.

Charity Co-Founder Amy Pullen said: “We know how difficult it can be to get out and meet new people, especially in the winter and when you have small children to look after. We wanted to create a weekly walking group to give everyone a chance to get out and socialise in a friendly, welcoming environment, and what better way to do that than with a leisurely walk around a beautiful area?”

Each walking group will last for 10 weeks, with people welcome to come along and join in at any stage. The group is free to join, and Amy hopes that later in the year, people who have attended the group will consider doing a sponsored walk to help raise money for Ada & Albert. Signing up to the sponsored walk is not compulsory, however.
